Rita Allen Ebbs, 98, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born in New York City to Katherine Ryan and Joseph B. Allen on July 31, 1915. Moved to Jacksonville at an early age. She attended St. Paul's Catholic school from grade school to high school and was graduated in 1933.
She was predeceased by her husband Hubert Carl Ebbs after 51 years, and son Don Ebbs.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Mitchell, two grandsons, Kenny and Steven Mitchell and four great grandchildren. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church since 1963, was active in the Womans Guild and one of the church organists.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church, 742 Arlington Rd. N. on June 16, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. Graveside Service will be at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home at 850 St.Johns Bluff Rd. N.
The family requests any memorials be made to Christ the King Church or Mayo Clinic of Florida.
