

Robert A. (Bob) Denmark passed away on October 23,2018 at Jacksonville Community Hospice (Acosta Rua Center for Caring) on Ramona Boulevard following a short illness. He was preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife Laverne; his parents, John Foy and Edna Lucille Denmark; and two brothers, Edwin and Tommy Denmark. He is survived by his daughter Kara Michelle (Fred) and granddaughter Makenna Wenk whom he loved dearly; three sisters, Norma Powell (John), Delores “Dee” Denmark and Gail Bradstreet (Mike); as well as his nephews, nieces, cousins and many dear friends.
He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor as well as his kind and caring personality and love for others. Bob was born in Jacksonville on July 21, 1945. He was a graduate of Paxon High School and Florida Southern College. After college, he served in the U.S. Army where he retired as a LT COL. He also retired as a salesman for Epperson & Co after working there for 30 years. Bob attended Murray Hill Baptist Church. He was a devoted Jaguars and Florida Gators fan but his real love of entertainment was on the dance floor where he could be found almost any night of the week, either at Ballroom Bliss or Ortega River Club.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Funeral Home at 7242 Normandy Boulevard, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Murray Hill Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018, followed by full military graveside service at Riverside Memorial Park on Normandy Boulevard, and a Celebration of Life with family and friends at the Ortega River Club, 4165 Lakeside Drive.
