Robert E. Miller

Robert was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida on April 25, 1931 to John Troy Miller, Sr. and Bessie Thirsa Olive Miller. Robert was married to his beloved wife, Joyce Riley Miller for 48 years.

Robert is survived by his wife, Joyce; brother; John Miller; daughter; Melody Waites; son; Craig Sands; and three grandchildren: Brooke Wannamaker; Meagan Moffet; and Meredith Goosetree.

He was a very loving son, father, husband, grandfather and will be truly missed by his family and friends. He touched the hearts of his family with love, compassion, understanding and kindness. He joined the United States Navy and faithfully served during the Korean War. He worked as aircraft evaluator and examiner at Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida. He was a devoted patriot who believed in America, hard work and was committed to God, family and country. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville since 1974.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 3:00 at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida. The interment will immediately follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
