Robert L. Mitchell, Sr., 78, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013. He served 8 years in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He specialized in being a Flooring Mechanic for 50 years. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gloria I. Mitchell; children, Diane Wright, Robert (Sonia) Mitchell, Jr., Irene (Denny) Whitehead, Ricky (Lyn) Mitchell; siblings, Wilbur (Maxine) Mitchell, Doyle (Mary Jane) Mitchell, Dale (Ilona) Mitchell, Mary Beth (Ed) Paxton; 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. 32205. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 2:00pm, in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville, FL.
