Roy Matthew Buford, 88, passed away October 10, 2012. He was born January 14, 1924 to the late Milton and Jessie Buford in Lyons, GA. A longtime resident of Jacksonville he served in the US Army during WWII, was a member of Christian Fellowship Temple of Macclenny and was a 32 degree Mason.
Family members include his loving wife of 70 years Lawson C. Buford, son Roy Allen (Sara) Buford, daughter Darlene Buford (John) Verderane, sister Hazel Rayburn, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd N. Jacksonville with Rev. David Thomas and Rev. Timmy Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-2pm at the funeral home.
