Celebrating the Life of Ruby Sybil Stewart
(November 29, 1923 – April 24, 2025)
Today, with grateful hearts and deep affection, we celebrate the life and legacy of Ruby Sybil Stewart (née McKenzie), who was called home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2025, at the age of 101.
Born in Deeside, Trelawny, Jamaica, to Sydney McKenzie and Ena Phillips, Ruby was raised in a home rich with love, dignity, and faith. She later married her beloved husband, Llewellyn Stewart, with whom she built a beautiful family and shared a lifelong journey of devotion and service.
Ruby was the proud and loving mother of five children, including her beloved late son, Denzil Delisa. She is survived by her children: Sonia Collman (husband Lindford Collman), Angela Stewart, Yvonne Stewart, and Carl Stewart (wife Lena Stewart).
Her extraordinary legacy continues through her grandchildren: Andrea Rutherford, Shaun Rutherford, Karene Collman, Darren Collman, Adam Stewart (wife Nydia Stewart), Honor Creasy (husband William Creasy), Courtney Stewart, Christian Stewart, Taylor Stewart (wife Rychlend Stewart), Shakira Campbell, and Gyasi Stewart.
Her blessings multiplied with her great-grandchildren: Remelle Daniels, Marley Rutherford, Shaquille Daniels, Kalila Collman, Issac Daniels, Jayden Daniels, Isha Daniels, Sharnay Rutherford, Chanel Stewart, Holly Creasy, Veronica Creasy, Liliana Stewart, and Emilio Stewart, and one great-great-grandchild, Sakiyha Daniels.
Throughout her life, Sister Ruby served faithfully as a caregiver, missionary, encourager, and steadfast prayer warrior. Whether tending to patients, nurturing her family, or strengthening her church community, she was a shining example of God's love in action.
Her life was anchored by her favorite scripture:
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." — Matthew 6:33
Though she has left this earthly realm, Ruby’s faith, compassion, and beautiful spirit continue to inspire all who knew her.
We rejoice in knowing that she now rests in the everlasting arms of her Savior.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
In lieu of flowers please make a contribution, in honor of Ruby, to Paramount Church.
