Ruth Feltman Turner

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, William and Jewel Feltman; husband, William M. Turner, Jr.; brothers, Roy Feltman and James Feltman; and son, Douglas Dean.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Taylor (Michael); sisters-in-law, Evelyn Feltman and Marie Feltman Loyless; grandchildren, Jason Dean (Amy), Dana Santos (Michael), Mason Taylor, and Lindsay Taylor; great-granddaughters, Gabrielle Dean Grant (Zachary), Alayna Santos, and Selena Santos; and one great-great-grandson, Charlie Grant.

Ruth was born in Ensley, Alabama, later moving to Jacksonville, Florida, where she retired from the FDLE. A Baptist by faith, she was a longtime member of Terry Parker Baptist Church.

She was known for her sharp wit, unwavering independence, and deep love for her family. Ruth’s humor was a hallmark, especially in the playful rivalry she shared with her brothers, Jimmy and Roy. Her independent streak was well-known and often the source of fond family stories. In recent years, her daughter, Robin, lovingly stepped in to assist with various aspects of Ruth's life, despite Ruth’s insistence that she was perfectly capable on her own—a sentiment she maintained with characteristic humor and determination. Her son Doug, who passed in 2020, was also a cherished part of her life and remained close to her heart.

Ruth took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She was overjoyed to become a great-great-grandmother in 2023, a milestone that added a twinkle to her eyes.

A visitation for Ruth will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will occur Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage- Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
