He passed away, peacefully, in his home in Jacksonville, FL. Paul was born to Silvon and Eilleene Caudill in Welch, WV on May 15, 1948. The family moved to southwest Virginia while he was young. He attended John S. Battle high school, where he was on the wrestling team.Upon completing high school, Paul volunteered to serve his country by enlisting in the US Navy. He proudly served 2 tours in Vietnam. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he relocated to northwest Florida where he was married and raised 3 children.
Paul successfully owned and operated a telecommunications business for many years. His favorite pastimes were cheering on the FSU Seminoles football team and spending hours upon hours fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Upon his retirement, he moved back to his hometown in Abingdon, VA where he spent the next 20+ years enjoying time with family and friends. He was an active member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1994. Paul’s final years were spent back in Florida, where he returned to spend more time with his grandchildren.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Dean and Kenny Caudill. He is survived by his sister, Rita Rutledge (Noah Richard “Dicky”) of Front Royal, VA; daughter, Cindy Maneth of Crawfordville, FL; daughter, Brandi Giron (Tom) of Jacksonville, FL; son, Travis Caudill of VA; 4 grandchildren; great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and his beloved dog and best buddy, Sailor.
Services for Buster will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL, 4083 Lannie Road Jacksonville, FL 32218 where he will receive military honors.
