Her colors were blush and bashful…if you were fortunate enough to know her you are already familiar with this favorite saying. The truth is though her favorite color is taupe. This is a color to not be confused with tan or beige, it is a very distinct and unique color and should you make the mistake of identifying it differently you would be swiftly corrected. It will be up to you now though to continue the tutelage behind this color.
Sheryl Lynn Grant passed away on her 64th birthday, June 22, 2015, after battling and defying the odds against breast cancer. It was easy to forget that she lived with this disease as she rarely took time off work and you would often find her tearing up a room in her house for a full remodel or out in her yard planting a River Birch. The concept of Sweat Equity didn’t scare her. She was born in Woburn, MA, grew up in Wilmington, MA, and received a degree in Nursing from Lawrence Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1974. She spent the last 20 years doing clinical research at the Jacksonville Center for Clinical Research. Outside of work she applied her passion for design to the many different houses she moved to and lived in. To say that she had a propensity towards Country French design would be an understatement. She was a master seamstress, painter, refurbisher and landscaper with a vision of Versailles.
She is survived and remembered by her daughter, Amanda Grant; son, Nathaniel Grant; mother, Elizabeth Andersen; sisters, Marcy Perry and Heather Hammond; brother, Scott Lester; and lastly, her work family at JCCR. She was a kind and loving mother, daughter, sister and friend.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 4:00pm at Hardage-Giddens, Chapel Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation where over 90% of donations go to research and programs.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. North, Jacksonville, FL 32225 (904) 641-9755. Hardage-Giddens, Chapel Hills Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hardage-giddenschapelhills.com
