She was born February 16, 1937 to John and Elgie Rehberg in Lakeland, FL.
Shirley taught Sunday school for 50 years and was a member of Franklin St. Baptist Church.
She retired from JEA after 28 ½ years of service. Her biggest love was teaching children.
Shirley also enjoyed the beach very much.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Wayne Higginbotham.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dan, two children Melanie (Victor) Morris, Duane Carter,
two grandchildren James Boyle, Jennifer Boyle, one great-grandson Travis Boyle, one brother Gary Moore,
two sisters Peggy Thrift, Sandra Lopez and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for friends will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Franklin St. Baptist Church, 2521 Franklin St.,
Jacksonville, FL 32206 from 10-11am. Funeral services will begin at 11am with interment at Riverside Memorial Park at 2pm.
