She is survived by her children Ana Martinez, Marisela Cruz, Thomas De Leon, Maribel De Leon and her daughter in law Augustina De Leon. Her grandchildren: Juan Francisco Martinez, Adela Martinez, Alberto Martinez and his wife Elizabeth, Eric De Leon and his wife Maritza, Alexandra Cruz, Claribel Cruz, Maryluz Cruz, Nicolas De Leon and Jordan De Leon, her great-grand children: Stephanie Bordelon and her husband Andrew, Michelle El Ghazal and her husband Haydem, Jose DeGracia, Emily Ferrucci and her husband Francesco, Andrew Martinez, Alyssa Martinez, Analisa Minogue and Ryan Minogue. Her great-great grandchildren: Cole, Owen, Lucy Ana, Kamila, Zion, Luna and Kairo. She also had a lot of spiritual “adoptive” children and grandchildren because of her faith. She is predeceased by her husband Pedro De Leon, her son Juan De Leon and her great-grandson Michael De Gracia.
Mercedes was a wonderful cook and hostess, and loved to show her appreciation for others by cooking and feeding them. The most important thing in her life was to serve the creator of all things, Jehovah. She loved talking about Him to all that she met and would spread His word.
