Stephen "Russell" Denmark

Stephen “Russell” Denmark, 86, passed away on January 16, 2021 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born in Jacksonville on May 16, 1934. Russell graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and received “Certified Exterminator” from the State of Florida. He married Anne Yvonne Denmark on February 23, 1968.

Russell worked in pest control for other companies and as owner of Demark Pest Control. He was a member of First Baptist Church and had a passion for fishing, photography/developing, repairing cars, TV and many hobbies over the years. He served 6 years in Navy Reserves and over 2 years in the Army, until he was injured and spent a year in a military hospital. He loved talking about his Army days and antics. His greatest love of all was his “Sweet Thing”, his wife of just short of 53 years, Anne.

He is survived by wife Anne; children Carl Clayton Barton, Catherine Yvonne Stuart and John Dwayne Barton; grandchildren Michael James Barton, Laura Anne Stuart, Heather Deanne Stuart, Lil Bit (Deloris) Nolan and Amy Lynn Barton.

He was preceded in death by his father Stephen L. Denmark; mother Emily M. Denmark; sister Evelyn (Jo) Denmark; a young brother and sister; and granddaughter Linda Marie Barton.

A visitation for Stephen will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32205. Graveside services will be on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park.
