On September 1st 1998, in Pontiac, Michigan, God blessed Jerome and Joy with a precious baby boy named Stephen Nathanael Minor. Growing up as a Military child, Stephen experienced childhood and youth in Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, and Germany. From an early age, he brought joy, light, and warmth to his family and those around him through his creativity, love, laughter, and adventurous nature –always keeping them on their toes. Whether in an empty room or a crowded space, Stephen had a special way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved.
Throughout school, Stephen enjoyed playing sports, including tennis, football, basketball, and fitness training. While still in high school, he even became a P.E. instructor for youth. As he progressed through high school, he was passionate about creative writing, cinematography, photography, music production, playing guitar, and playing drums with a local jazz band.
Before joining the military, he started a photography company, Ascension Visuals, which led him to combine two of his favorite interests of sports and photography.
Stephen enlisted in the 125th Air National Guard Fighter Wing in December 2022 and held the equivalent position with the Federal Government. As he advanced in his career, he was recognized as Airman of the Quarter and completed his associate degree through Florida State College, Jacksonville, and the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). Ultimately, working towards his goal of becoming an Air Force Fighter Pilot. Beyond his professional life, he loved riding his Suzuki GSX-8r motorcycle, bodybuilding, and cinematography.
More than anything, Stephen deeply loved his family and friends. He cherished time spent with those closest to him and was known for encouraging others, making people laugh, giving advice, and showing kindness. His love, smile, and spirit touched countless lives, and the memories shared with him will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
On April 26, 2026, God received Stephen Nathanael Minor to his eternal home. Though our hearts are heavy beyond words, we are grateful for the life he lived, the love he shared, and the impact he made during his time with us.
Stephen leaves behind to cherish his memory: his parents, Jerome and Joy, his siblings, Austin, Rebekah, Philip, Samuel, and Michael, and a host of loving family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were forever touched by him.
Stephen will be deeply missed and forever loved. His life was a gift, his presence was a blessing, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully appreciates any support during this difficult time.
