Susan Taylor, age 55, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in Jacksonville, FL following a long battle with cancer. Susan was born July 31, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida to Merrill and Lucille (Powell) Spires. Susan was a parishioner of Assumption Catholic Church in Jacksonville. She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Linda Ryan, and one brother Richard Spires. Survivors include her devoted husband of 30 years Tony Taylor; two sons Jordan Taylor (Fiancée Brandi Mosley)and Josuah Taylor; two brothers Jimmy Spires (Vivian) and Tommy Spires (Susan); one grandson Blake Weeks. A Visitation is scheduled from 6:00- 9:00 pm., Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Thursday, April 19, 2012. A Mass of Resurrection will be held 11:00 are, Friday April 20, 2012 at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be in Susan’s honor to American Cancer Society, 1430 Prudential Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
