Thomas Lee Blakeney, a lifelong Jacksonville resident, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Jacksonville, Tom attended Edward White High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and musical connections.
A talented musician and founding member of Southern Rukus, Tom shared his love of music with countless people. He was known for his compassion for animals, especially the many cats he cared for and his humor that could brighten any room.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Betty Blakeney.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sally Blakeney; daughters, Amanda Gilligan (Christopher) and Shelli Blakeney; grandchildren, Dylan Cole, Teegan Leon, Cassidy Leon, and Georgia Gilligan; and his sister, Maryann Hunter (Rick).
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 7, 2025, at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Event Pavilion, 1373 Memorial Park Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, with fellowship at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM, followed by refreshments.

Tom’s music, laughter, and kindness will continue to echo through the lives of all who knew and loved him.
