Thomas was born on September 23,1955 to Tyler and Catherine Scoggins on NAS Jacksonville. He was a proud Jacksonville native and lifelong resident. Thomas graduated from Robert E. Lee High school, class of 1973, after which he served in the Army National Guard. He went on to become a master Welder.
Thomas was a dedicated employee of Anchor Glass Container in the maintenance department and retired in 2020, after 23 years of service.
He was a faithful Jaguar fan and a 20 year season ticket holder.
Thomas is survived by his daughter Jane (James) Barrett, son Tyler (Amanda) Scoggins, grandchildren Carlton, Ansleigh and Andrew Barrett, sister Barbara (Bill) Coen, niece Christina Coen and Gina Bishard, nephew Bryan (Jill) Coen, cousins Jimmy (Jessica) Johnston, Ian, Seth and Corey Johnston. Thomas also had lifelong friends Ronnie, Billy and Debbie Albair, David Bergeaux, and Bobby Gillespie.
A celebration of life for Thomas will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Event Pavilion, 1373 Memorial Park Road, Jacksonville, FL.
