Sue was born on February 4th, 1923, in Richmond, Virginia to Filmore and Annie Mae Mitchell. She graduated from Maury High School in 1941. She was a faithful member and elder at Lake Shore Presbyterian Church for many years. For 20 years she was an Administrative Assistant with the Duval County School System at the Biltmore Exceptional Child Center. She loved gardening and spending time with her many grandchildren.
Sue was predeceased by her parents, Filmore and Annie Mae Mitchell, her devoted husband of 46 years, James, her daughter Kathleen, and her grandson Palmer. She is survived by her sons James (Melanie), Edward (Linda), Brian (Kim), grandchildren Brian, Melissa, Kathleen, Michael, Lindsey, and Peyton, and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Leah, Miller, Kaitlin, Ayla, Liam and Everly.
The family would like to express their appreciation to nurse Kate at Community Hospice and the wonderful staff at the McGraw Center.
A private family burial ceremony will be held on Tuesday, January 28th at Hardage Giddens Chapel at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
