Vance C. Butler Sr., 100, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in Orange Park, FL at his residence under NE FL Community Hospice. He was born September 14, 1917 to Carl and Ruby Butler in McRae, GA. Vance was a WWII veteran in the United States Army/Air Force. He loved gardening, fishing, flirting in the grocery store and spending time with his family. Vance was also a Grand Master Mason for over 50 years. He is preceded in death by his children’s mother Virgie C. Butler and all of his brothers and sisters. Vance is survived by his son Vance C. Butler Jr., daughter Vanice Serrano, 3 grandchildren Raquel Illingworth, Emily Serrano, Miranda Serrano and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank his caretakers of many years Julia, Brandi, Keisha and Brandi for taking such good care of their dad. Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home is serving the family. A visitation for friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral services to be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11am at the funeral home with interment at Riverside Memorial Park. Pastor Jay Stuckey officiating.
