Vanessa Abella Patrick, age 61, of Jacksonville, formerly of San Diego, California, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Born December 11, 1961, as Belinda Beligolo in Dumaguete City, Negros, Philippines, and was the daughter of the late Petronio Beligolo and Lilia Molina Beligolo.
As a military spouse of a husband in the Navy she traveled the world for vacations and was stationed in the Philippines, San Diego, Japan, and Hawaii. While overseas she focused on her daughter and making lasting experiences and memories as a family. Vanessa loved interacting with and helping people and was employed as sales associate and customer service representative for the Navy Exchange, MWR, and Jewelry sales. This employment continued on-base well until after her husband’s military retirement. After what seemed like a lifetime of moving, she and the family relocated in 2004 to Jacksonville, Florida to finally set roots.
Vanessa was artistic and the things that brought her joy were working on ceramics, making crafts, creating jewelry, and cooking for her YouTube channel as she could explore her creativity and share her creations with family and friends. Another joy was singing karaoke online with her family located around the world as it brought them together virtually for their shared passion. Additionally, her support of charities in the Philippines was driven by her love of god and helping anyone without means.
Surviving are her husband Steven Patrick and daughter Cherrellelyn Patrick of Jacksonville, four sisters, Lizalie (Kazumi) Oiwa of Gifu, Japan, Emily (Geofrey) Alama and Olivia (Napoleon) Mandi of Dumaguete City, Philippines, and Gemma Beligolo of Toronto, Canada. She was preceded in death by her brother Elmer Beligolo of Manila, Philippines. She also leaves behind many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews that she adored.
A viewing will be held for her at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home on Tuesday May 30, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. 7242 Normandy Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32205.
