Born in Conway, South Carolina she was a daughter of the late Homer and Nancy Hardee Shelley. Viola was a loving mother, sister grandmother and friend.
Surviving are her children, Shelvie Jean Browning, Doris A. Stover both of Lake Butler, Fl. Cindy Lou Windsor of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Sisters, Vondie E. McKinlay, Mary M. Buie, and Dianne Phillips, all of Jacksonville, FL; nine Grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Beulah Thompkins, Jeanette Robinson, Peggy Lowrimore and Hilda Jo Shelley; brother, Edward Shelley; son, Buddy Todd; and her husband, Baker J. Stewart.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 10:30am at Hardage-Giddens, Chapel Hills Funeral Home with burial to follow in Arlington Park Cemetery at 12:00 pm.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
