Our dear mother and grandmother, Virginia “Jennie” McCall Lane, 81, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 5, 2011 in Jacksonville, Fl. She was born on September 29, 1930 in Holmes County, Fl.
As a young adult, Jennie married and moved to Jacksonville, Fl. After raising her four children, she obtained a master’s degree from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fl. Virginia retired from a long and successful career as an elementary school teacher with the Duval County School Board.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Edgar G. Lane Jr. She is survived by her children, James G. Lane (Joy), Terry M. Lane (Kathy), Richard A. Lane (Rosemary) and Elizabeth Ann Lane, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on October 9, 2011 at Hardage-Giddens on Edgewood Ave from 6 to 8pm.
Memorial service will be held on October 10, 2011 at Biltmore Baptist Church at 10am. Immediately following the memorial service, a grave side burial service will be held at the Colombia Cemetery located in Quitman, GA (Brooks County).
