

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of a truly remarkable man, WILLIAM JACKSON COX JR., affectionately known as Jack, on March 27, 2026 in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on June 10, 1950 to Joanna (Whitney) Wilson and William Jackson Cox Sr.
He lived his life embodying the virtues of hard work, dedication, and love for his family. He was a beacon of strength, resilience, and perseverance to all who knew him. His infectious love for the military, ford mustangs, was an inspiration to many. Jack’s first amazing achievement was the time he spent in the United States Army; where he completed two tours in Vietnam and got to see Bob Hope at Camp Eagle. Yet, Jack’s first and greatest achievement was his love for his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Victoria (Cox) & her husband Jose Costa. His grandchildren Elizabeth Costa, Stephanie Coolidge and husband Roger, Melinda Bernard and her partner Robert Ikey, Emily HIcks and her husband Joshua, and Matthew Costa and his wife Elyssa. His grandchildren Devlin, Savannah, Xadrian, Domenic, Lilyann, Tatiannah, Bradford, Skyler, Wyatt. His great grandchildren Kate & Luna. He is also survived by a brother Kenneth Cox and a sister Sarah (Joanie Wilson) Coughlan. He is also survived by his wife’s 3 children Amanda & Mike Hoffer their 3 children and 2 grandchildren, Joesph & Addie Goosby their 6 children and 1 grandchild, & Angela Abunz and her husband Abderrazak Mouassi and their children Symiah, Megan & Sean Jr, and 2 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Loving Mother, Joanna Wilson, his brother Roy Cox & his wife Erla Cox.
