William Henry McVay, 60, died on August 12th after a lengthy illness. A native of Jacksonville, Bill graduated from Baldwin High School in 1982. He began a lifelong career in Healthcare Management with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida then with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Pennsylvania.
He will be remembered for his smile and caring ways. While living in Mandarin he worked with and supported many local charitable organizations.
He is survived by his mother, Ann Jones McVay; his father and step-mother, Bobby and Pat McVay; nephew, JT Francis (Sally), niece Julie Ann Rhame (Beau); 3 great nieces and 3 great nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vonda Ann Francis and his grandparents, Paul and Dorothy Jones; Dora B. Hunter and Mac and Frances McVay.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 19th at 11:00 a.m. in Riverside Memorial Park (North side) 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205 with the Rev. Emily Knight officiating.
