Carol Joy Holmes

Carol Joy Holmes, Age 85, passed peacefully in Commerce Twp. surrounded by loved ones, on March 22, 2014. Carol was born, in Rockford, Illinois, to the late Clarence and Vera (Haggett) Anderson, younger sister to the late Clarence "Andy" Anderson, on February 14, 1929. Raised in Rockford, Illinois, Carol graduated in 1947. That same year she married the late Frank James (Jim) Holmes and embarked on adventure that took them many places, always together and deeply in love. .After raising their three children Carol retired as a valued member of the Novi administrative team and moved to Port Sanilac, MI, where she and Jim spent their golden years, spending time with friends and exploring the beaches around Port Sanilac. Jim and Carol were married 58 years. She will be remembered as an adored wife, a loving mother and cherished friend. Carol was always kind and happy and enjoyed her life completely. Her passing will be heartfelt by all that knew her. Carol is survived by her children, Cynthia Dillard, Michael Holmes and Daniel Holmes and his wife Shirley, her grandchildren, James Ryan Dillard, Andrew Dillard, Shauna Pecheco and her husband Tony, Michael Holmes and Dreama Holmes and her great grandchildren Lorenzo Holmes, Keegan Holmes and Vincent Pecheco as well as 2 nieces, Nina and Donna, and a nephew John. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home Godhardt-Tomlinson Chapel, 2904 Orchard Lake Rd., Keego Harbor.
