CASE, William J. (“Bill”), age 87, of Bloomfield Hills, passed away July 4, 2018. Beloved husband of Roxane for 46 years. Dear father of James (Beth), Anne Krawchuk, Steven (Vicki), Peter (Sarah), and David. Caring grandfather of Sarah, Katie, Paige, Marshall, Rachel, Areonna, and Ian. Best friend of “Lucky.” Dear uncle to four nieces and nephews. He was born on October 20, 1930 in New York City, raised in Yonkers, N.Y. and attended public schools there. He graduated in 1952 from Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. After a successful career in marketing management with Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, and Hoffman-LaRoche and in marketing consulting, he joined the W. B. Doner advertising agency in Southfield, MI in 1973 where he held senior management positions for 13 years. He retired in 1996 from Campbell-Ewald advertising in Warren, MI. Member of Pine Lake Country Club in Orchard Lake, MI since 1977, having served on its Green Committee and Board of Directors for a number of years. He was particularly proud of his involvement there with projects to improve the playability and aesthetics of its golf course and better maintain its tree population. Avid golfer, sailor, photographer, and HO gauge model railroad enthusiast. For over 25 years, he was a tenor banjo player and announcer with the Hotel Savarine Society Orchestra which performed music of the 1920’s in such venues as Greenfield Village, Henry Ford Museum, Fox Theatre, Book-Cadillac Hotel, and Oakland Community College. Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 1-4 PM, with a Memorial Service beginning at 4 PM, at Family Funeral Care (Formerly, Pixley Funeral Home Godhardt-Tomlinson Chapel), 2904 Orchard Lake Rd., Keego Harbor, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salvation Army.
