Andrea Garza

February 16, 1935-November 12, 2025

It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that we confirm that our beloved mother, Andrea Garza, passed away on November 12, 2025, in her home bed after having suffered a stroke. She died peacefully in her sleep at 90 years old; with her daughter at her side.

Andrea was born to Fred and Elvira Guerra in Gonzalez, TX on February 16, 1935. She graduated from Gonzales High School. She lived in Gonzales with her brothers and sisters until the family moved to Killeen, TX. She met her late husband, Paul Garza, in Killeen where he was based at Ft. Hood, TX. They were married November 17,1959. Later, getting Army orders, Paul and Andrea moved to Anchorage, Alaska. It was there that they had their first child, Jon. After a short stay in Anchorage, Paul and Andrea returned to Killeen/Ft. Hood where they had their second child, Deborah.

Andrea was a loving wife and mother with a strong love for family and for her dogs.

Andrea is survived by her children, Jon Eric Garza-Holmes (Tim) and Deborah Kay Hanks; her brothers, and sister, John Guerra, Lupe Vargas and Martin Guerra.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30am November 20,2025 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the CenTex Humane Society in Andrea’s name.
