Beady was born the 7th child of nine to Conyers Wilson Sosebee and Clatie Belzora Lum. During her teen years, Beady excelled in basketball and enjoyed playing the guitar. She accepted the Lord as her Savior at age 16.
Beady moved to Austin, TX to live with her brother in 1949 and met Bill shortly after while attending First Assembly of God. He was a student at the University of Texas, and she was employed at Woolworth. They married in November of that same year.
Bill joined the Army in 1952, and they became world travelers. They were blessed with four beautiful daughters. Beady was kept busy as a homemaker, seamstress, Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, and choir member.
Beady found fulfillment by pouring herself into the lives of her family and friends. She often invited people into her home who needed a family during the holidays. Many of these people became lifelong friends. Beady’s overwhelming generosity overflowed through her gifts of money, time, lodging, food, and love. She is remembered by all those that she mentored in their Christian walk.
Beady’s legacy is characterized by her giving spirit, her servant’s heart, and her commitment to witnessing and prayer. This legacy lives on in the lives of her family and friends.
Beady is survived by her husband LTC (Retired) Willis W. “Bill” Beam, their four daughters, Rita Guarino of Fort Worth, TX, Janet Chase (Mick) of Killeen, TX, Robin Carpio (Danny) of Killeen, TX, and Melodi Bishop (Clint) of Colorado Springs, CO, adopted daughter, Onnelly Mansker of Killeen, TX, and sister, Betty Sue Clark of Greenville, MS.
