Cresencia was born November 14, 1932 in Umingan, Pangasinan, Philippines to the late Vitaliano and Pastora Alvarado Villano. She was highly educated and graduated from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. She worked in the Philippine Tobacco Administration as a Pharmacist, Chemist and researcher for over 20 years and continued her career at the Department of Agrarian Reform until her retirement.
In 1974, she was one of the founders and producers of Cultura Filipiniana in the Philippines, formerly known as TUGSAWIT (Tugtug, Sayaw, Awit), a Banduria Rondalla, Dance Troupe and singers which performed at prominent places, such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines, that promotes cultural music, dances and songs.
Cresencia was a faithful parishioner of St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in Harker Heights, Texas and member of the Ladies of Charity for 15 years. She was also a member of Legion of Mary (Our Lady of Fatima Praesidium) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Killeen, Texas.
She was preceded by her husband, Mariano Rodrigo Laureta in March 2012, a sister, Laureta Alvarado Villano in March 2015 and a son, Roberto Villano Laureta in August 2001.
She is survived by her sisters and brother, Mary Dumpit and Salvacion Amado of California,
Gertrudes Carson and Sergio Villano of Washington. Her family in Texas - daughter, Alma Eclavea and her husband Albert; grandchildren, Allyson Laureta Eclavea Phinney and her husband Kevin, Alvin Laureta Eclavea and his wife Kelli, and Alleksys Laureta Eclavea; great grandchildren, Kylun Mariano Eclavea Phinney and Benjamin Gordon Eclavea;
Her family in the Philippines – daughter in law, Norma Ecraela Laureta, son, Leodegario Villano Laureta and his wife Elizabeth Jacomina Laureta, daughter, Agnes Laureta Alfaro and her husband Gregorio; grandchildren, Ronald Jason Laureta and his wife Sheryll, Rachelyn Joy Laureta Andrion and her husband Joem, Rochelle Joyce Laureta, Roberto Laureta, Jr., Frances Margaux Laureta, Niel Joseph Laureta Alfaro and his wife Jaffete Sarmiento, Sharmaine Laureta Alfarao, Allysa Laureta Alfaro, Robin Laureta Alfaro, Francis Anthony Laureta; great grandchildren, Gabriel Javin Andrion, Luccio Vito Francesco Laureta, Ario Elijah S. Alfaro and Gregorio Alfaro III.
Funeral Mass for Cresencia will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 20, 2019, at St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in Harker Heights, TX. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Mariano at the Killeen City Cemetery.
Recitation of the Rosary will be 4:00 PM Sunday, May 19, 2019 with visitation to follow until 6:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.
