

Daryl Ray Branham, 59, of Killeen, passed away on March 24, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Daryl was a long-time resident of Killeen. He graduated from Ellison High School in 1982 and married his high school sweetheart, Linda. They were married 38 years and blessed with two sons.
He worked for the local cable company for 31 years, retiring in 2017. At that time, he headed to Puerto Rico to help rebuild cable after the hurricanes. Not to remain retired, he also worked for the City of Killeen and for the Corp of Engineers, on the coast.
Born & raised in a naval community, Daryl was born in Chicago, and has lived in California and Hawaii. When Daryl was in his late teens, they made their home in Killeen.
Daryl enjoyed working on race cars and hanging out at the racetrack, with his dad. He loved rifle and bow hunting; however, fishing was his passion! He was a member of several fishing clubs. Daryl participated in Tuesday night tournaments with Tight Lines. He taught his boys to fish. Daryl was known to say, “just need that one more rod and reel”!
Daryl is survived by his wife, best friend and soulmate, Linda, his son David (Brandy) of San Antonio, son Cody (Cheyenne) of Copperas Cove, his parents, Pershing & Carolyn Branham of Gatesville and brother, Michael Branham (Penny) of Broken Bow, OK, along with 8 grandchildren, many relatives and friends and of course, his sweet dogs, Bella and Biscuit!
Daryl will especially be remembered for never meeting a stranger. He was known for his generosity and always ready with a good story. He was a member of Maxdale Cowboy Church where he served as an usher and volunteered for many community services.
A Memorial service will be on Thursday, March 28th, 6 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. If desired, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or American Cancer Society.
