He was born on October 5, 1983, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Lawrence Railback and Angela Robinson. Derrick attended Grant High School. He began his career in the U.S. Army Special Forces after basic training. During his tireless training, he also had a passion for higher learning. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ashford University on October 3, 2011, and then a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of the Rockies on August 5th, 2013. He wanted to be an inspiration for other young people in his career of choice to encourage them to take advantage of the opportunity that the U.S. Army provides to further their education, so he wrote a book on it, which can be found on Amazon.
He received a certificate of retirement on June 18, 2019, due to the injuries he received while serving. He loved serving in the U.S. Army for our beautiful country, the USA.
Derrick loved to travel, and that made a good combination for military life. He was also a philanthropist & Altruist. Derrick will always be remembered for his generosity, as he was very loving and giving to family, friends, and strangers.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Rosie Williams, and his grandfather, George Robinson, who also served in the US Army.
He is survived by his parents, Lawrence Railback and Angela Robinson, brother, Errick Railback, and sisters, Donisha Railback and Latressa Railback, and many beautiful nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank TAPS for all their help during this tragic and difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to TAPS in Derrick’s name.
