Elsbeth Ida Davis

Elsbeth Ida Davis nee. Kleinschrod of Killeen, TX passed away on December 8th, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born on November 2nd 1946 in Schweinfurt Germany to Wilheim and Irene Kleinschrod.

She was a Mother, Sister, Daughter, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother and a wonderful wife to her longtime husband of many years, James Davis who passed on June, 4th 2015. For many years they traveled the world together and created a family together filled with love and happiness.

They were married on July 9th 1965 while James was serving in Germany with the US Army. This is when their love story began. They finally settled in Killeen in 1980 where they stayed until their passing. She gave birth to four children a daughter Marion, a son Richard, a daughter Patricia, and a son Kenneth.

She worked throughout the years a government worker and in the school districts, but what she was most proud of in life was being a wife and mother to her children. She was filled with love and joy and would spread it with her amazing German Cheesecake’s and traditional German dishes that so many of her family and friends craved.

Affectionately called Oma by all she will be immensely missed. She is survived by her Daughter Marion Butner of Germany, Son Richard Davis and wife Peggy of Gatesville, TX, a Daughter Patricia Rudd and husband Garland of Killeen, TX and Son Kenneth Davis and wife Shannon of Noblesville, Indiana. Also carrying on her and James' legacy are 8 grandchildren and countless great grandchildren that she so affectionately loved and cherished as she did with all her family.

The family will receive family and friends at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Killeen for visitation on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 from 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of Flowers the family asks that donations be made to either the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children Hospital in her name.
