Frances Marie (Schorn) Barr age 91 of Killeen, Texas passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, at her home in Killeen. Funeral services will be on Wednesday August 14th at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church at 3801 Cunningham Rd. Killeen, Texas. Burial will follow at Killeen Memorial Park on Lake Rd. Killeen, Texas.
Frances was the daughter of Frank and Clara (Vahrenkamp) Schorn of Killeen, born September 18, 1932, in Killeen. She attended Killeen High School, graduating in 1950. She was later employed by Mid-Texas Telephone Company and retired after 37 years of service.
Frances was active in numerous community organizations including the Heart of Texas ABWA, Telephone Pioneers Club and as a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, she served on several church committees. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes to all hours of the night. She also loved traveling and being with family and friends.
She spent many hours sewing with her mother and aunts making beautiful pieces of clothing and quilts. Her favorite part of life was spending time with her two great-grandchildren, Brooke, and Ashley. They adored her.
She is preceded in death by husband Denver Barr, Sr., mother and father, and brother Elroy Schorn.
Frances is survived by one son, Denver (Denny) Barr Jr. and wife Jane, one grandson, Brian Renegar, and wife Lisa, two great granddaughters Ashley, Brooke, and husband Maxx, and one great-great granddaughter Ellison.
She is also survived by sister-in-law Rachel Schorn, one aunt, Vera Daude, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
