He emigrated from Jordan to the US, in search for a better life when he was 18 years old with $50 in his pocket. He navigated his new home country using an Arabic to English dictionary. He humbly worked multiple jobs as he put himself through college, earning his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Finlay Engineering College in Kansas City Missouri in 1980.
In 1981, he entered the Army serving honorably until 2002, with his specialty in Nuclear Biological Chemical Warfare. The greatest accomplishment of his military career was being awarded Noncommissioned Officer in charge by the secretary of the Army. In addition, he was a proud leader of his brigade with first Calvary.
After a successful Army career, he worked as a substitute math teacher at Central Texas College. He had a passion to teach and was a lifelong learner. He loved history, hunting, cooking and traveling. His sense of humor and laughter was contagious. He was the person you went to for advice and continued support.
His discipline, resilience and fearlessness enabled him to accomplish the American dream.
May his soul rest in peace.
