

Harry was born on September 4,1939 to Harry Kerr and Helen Young (Mills) in Sedalia, MO.
He attended Smith Cotton High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving his country honorably, to include two tours in Vietnam.
Harry was recognized with several medals, honors, and citations during his time of service as follows:
• Bronze Star Medal
• Meritorious Service Medal
• National Defense Service Medal
• Army Commendation Medal
• Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars
• Vietnam Campaign Medal w/DVC 60
• Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm
• Meritorious Unit Commendation
• Armed Forces Expedition Medal
• Good Conduct Medal (5th Award)
After proudly serving his country for over 20 years, he would retire from the U.S. Army as a MSG at Fort Jackson, SC, He continued to work in civil service as a Logistics Manager for The Department of Defense until his final retirement.
Harry married the love of his life, Chong Kerr in Belton, TX.
Together, Harry and Chong traveled to many places throughout their life together like Europe, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia and others. Harry and Chong would have celebrated their 48th anniversary this month.
He loved baseball, bowling, golfing, fishing, music and dancing. He was a man of few words, but his selflessness and sacrifice were his statements of love for his family.
Harry is survived by his beloved wife, Chong Kerr; daughter, Ju Kerr of Phoenix, AZ; two granddaughters; Alycia and Amaya, and also two daughters from his previous marriage; Janet Zufelt and Deborah Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry Kerr and Helen Young (Mills); brother, Herbert "Tom" Kerr, three sisters; Linda Long (Kerr), Bea Kerr, and Helen Kerr, and son from his previous marriage, Buddy Kerr.
