

Dr. Robinson was born December 13, 1964, in San Antonio, TX where he was raised. He was the beloved son of Christine and James Robinson Sr. James was sent to his eternal home on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Harker Heights, Texas. James passed peacefully in his sleep at home. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but the way it was lived, and the impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
James is survived by his loving mother, Christine, sister Michele, daughter Lori, life partner of 20 years Lisa, three step kids Lacy, Kenton and Lily 'Ona, two nieces Kennedy and Knoelle, two grandbabies Ezra and Adaline and one grandniece Grace. He has also left behind tons of friends and family who adore him and will greatly miss him. He is preceded in death by his father James Albert Robinson Sr, and grandparents Richard and Nellie Young of Alpine, Texas and Lewis and Geneva Robinson of San Antonio, Texas.
After graduating from Roosevelt High School, James enlisted in the US Air Force where he was an ophthalmology technician. After his 7-year tour with the Air Force James attended UC Berkley Optometry School in California. He did his externship with the VA. He graduated in 1996. James joined the US Army after graduating. He deployed to Iraq in 2003. He treated many wounded soldiers with eye injuries in Iraq. James retired in 2009 as a Major.
Dr. Robinson is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He enjoyed seeing patients and helping people see better. Dr. Robinson wanted to be an Optometrist since middle school.
Outside of the office James loved to spend time with family and friends. He loved to attend football games where Lori his daughter cheered. James was learning optical illusions and magic tricks to show his patients and anyone that would watch. He loved spending his summer on the water riding his jet ski. He took dance lessons and was learning to speak Spanish better. James was a good friend, and an amazing father. Those who knew James will remember him as living larger than life; always there to help and lend a helping hand. He was always there for advice or to just listen. Just don't talk politics! He is and will be greatly missed. The world was a better place with James in it, and he made a difference in the lives of so many.
A funeral service for James will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 South Fort Hood Road, Killeen, TX 76542. Interment will be Monday, November 3, 2025, at 2:15 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
