With deepest sorrow, we announce that James Michael (Jimmy) Taylor, age 22, our most cherished and beloved son, brother, family member, and friend passed suddenly on Wednesday, February 7, 2019 while in the hospital.
Jimmy was always racing ahead (thanks David Tarnow and Ryan Serrano, we blame you all) as multiple speeding tickets will attest to, sorry City of Temple, you will not be collecting on his latest, he just wanted to see what top speed was on Sam Jacques motorcycle. While we are on the subject of traffic violations he wants to apologize to all New Yorkers, he never meant to shut down all the lanes of traffic going into New York City, he didn’t realize his truck was too tall and your bridges too small. If you won’t hold it against him he won’t hold it against you all when you passed him and yelled obscenities...for an hour. All's forgiven.
Jimmy loved traveling, he loved the beaches in California and snowboarding in Colorado they were his favorites and he traveled there regularly. He loved the month he spent in Canada. He thought New Hampshire and Vermont were beautiful. Motocross was his passion and it allowed him to travel all over the U. S. I’ll miss our times at the track son.
Jimmy graduated from Temple High School when he was 16. He asked his parents if he graduated could he go to Winterpark, CO and work the ski season. He said he had a job and lodging already lined up. We thought he’d never be able to do it, so we said “sure”. Well he did and off to Colorado he went, he absolutely loved it and never looked back. Or apparently down, he was always running out of gas, and he didn’t mind if he had a truck full of people when he did it. That’s probably why Bryce Meyer and Jimmy could be found skateboarding on the access road of I-45 waiting on someone to bring him gas, even though he had money in his pocket.
Jimmy worked in the oil fields in West Texas. He was a solids control technician and a good one. This job allowed him to work closely with his dad. If you know Jimmy you’ll know how much he loved his dad and his dad loved him. His dad was proud of his strong work ethic and that Jimmy could flat out run any piece of machinery that he jumped into. Jimmy disliked working away from home but liked the money. It allowed him to travel all the time, and that was the perk.
Jimmy lived life and there is not a person to be found he couldn’t laugh with or laugh at, mostly himself. His life span might have been short but his life experiences were considerable. He was like high octane fuel, he ran a little faster and burned a little hotter than most people. You lived big son.
Jimmy will be missed everyday by his parents, Mike & Tina Taylor, sisters, Justine Dewald & Jasmin(Mike) Davenport, maternal grandparents, James & Keum Ja Thomas, paternal grandparents, James & Betty Taylor, aunts, Rhonda (Brian) Martin, Kelly (Scott) Hunt, Christine (Paul), and Faie (Ron)Chavez, uncle, Richard, niece, Jayden Dewald, nephews, Malachi Davenport and Jameson Dewald, cousins, Kayla (Joey) Gregston, Marion Carlile, Kendra (Johnny) Wolff, Thomas Carlile, Amber (Ben)Hooper, Alex Martin, Charlee West, & Austin West, his girlfriend of 6 yrs, Alexis Lottig, and their fur baby Samson.
We know Jimmy is now with his Uncle Chris and is in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He is loved here on earth as well as in heaven.
“and be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ” Ephesians 4:32 We MISS and LOVE you so much son XOXOXO
