Pastor Jack Harvey went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, May 10, 2025 in Killeen, TX. Jack Harvey was born April 17, 1943 in Buffalo, NY to Albert Henry Harvey and Doris Skillicorn Harvey.
At the age of 16, Jack went to Central New York Baptist Camp and was gloriously saved after a preaching service. A few years later, he joined the Navy. He had his basic training at Great Lakes and then was stationed at Cherry Point, NC. He served as a Medical Corpsman for 4 years and 4 months.
While stationed there, he met his wife, Brenda Whaley, at a Sunday morning church service at Bayview Baptist Church, in Mill Creek, NC. They were married on December 26,1964. They attended Grace Baptist Church in Morehead City, NC, and were greatly helped by the teaching and preaching of Pastor Clyde Eborn.
In 1966, Jack went to Bob Jones University to study for the ministry and graduated in 1970. Jack and Brenda were missionaries with Servicemen for Christ and started a Christian Servicemen’s Center at Fort Bragg, NC. After seeing many soldiers saved and strengthened, God allowed Jack to pastor Truth Baptist Church in Farmville, NC and Lighthouse Baptist Church in North Tonawanda, NY. He also started Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lancaster, NY.
In 1987, Dad founded Tabernacle Baptist Church in Killeen, TX. Through his leadership and preaching, many soldiers were saved and many lives were changed.
