Joyce Fern Stone

Services for Joyce Fern Stone will be at 2 p.m. Friday October 19, 2012 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Chapel in Killeen, Tx. Pastor Kenneth Cavey will conduct services. Burial will follow after the service at the Killeen City Cemetery. Viewing will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday October 18, 2012 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home.

Joyce Stone died Sunday October 14th at her home in Killeen TX. Joyce was born January 24, 1930 in San Antonio, Tx. Joyce was raised in San Antonio and Devine, Tx. She moved to Killeen in 1963 and has been a long time resident of the city.

Joyce was a homemaker and for several years a beautician at Mia’s Beauty Salon in Killeen. She was very proud of taking care of her Husband and their five children. She was an avid genealogist and very involved in the Ben Milam Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Her genealogical endeavors enabled her to also become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved sharing family history with all her family and friends.

She was also a longtime member of Memorial Baptist Church in Killeen, Tx. and treasured her time with her Sunday school class and many of the volunteer programs offered at the church.

Survivors include her children: Gayle D. Sehler of Fort Collins, Co., Peggy L. Beers of Perryton, TX., Karen D. Ocasio of Killeen, TX., E. Travis Stone, Jr. of Houston, TX. and Dorothy J. Kemmerer of Harvest, Al. , her grandchildren:, Jason C. Beers, Joshua E. Ocasio, Jeremy C. Sehler, Shelby L. Beers, Mandy M. (Ocasio) Townsend, Jamie L. (Sehler) Girard, Kimberly J. Beers, Eugene T. (Tripp) Stone III, Austin B. Stone, Tyler C. Stone, David A. Kemmerer Jr. and Gage C. Kemmerer and her great grandchildren: Abygail Beers, Bailey Pettigrew, Madilyn Ocasio, Dorian Sehler, Marnie Girard, Zoe Sehler, and Jake Beers as well as her sister Doris Wieters of Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Eugene T. Stone, her sister Nova Massey, brother Charles Hines and granddaughter Shannon D. Ocasio.
