

Funeral Services for Kenneth Owen Mundy, 84, will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Chapel in Killeen. Burial will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Following the burial, the family will return to the funeral home for a Reception with family and friends 1:30-3:00 PM Thursday.
Kenneth was born November 20, 1932 in Browns Valley, Minnesota, to Phillip and Elsa Mundy. He was the ninth child of ten from their union. He passed away on September 18, 2017 in Temple. He resided in Killeen until his death.
On July 17, 1950, Kenneth joined the US Army. He did basic training at Fort Ord, California. He was sent to Korea from 1951 to 1953, after which he received an Honorable Discharge. After eleven months, he rejoined the Army. So in 1954, he went back to Korea and then Germany. He floated back and forth between those two countries for the next several years.
Kenneth continued his service with a tour in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He returned again to Vietnam in 1970 to 1971. He retired from the military in September of 1971.
He is survived by his son, James Mundy; daughter, Marla Jean Mundy; and grandsons, Collin Mundy, Christopher Cantu and Michael Cantu.
The family will have a time of visitation 7:00 – 9:00 PM Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
