Larry married Shirley A. Bitterman in August of 1959. He proudly served 21 years in the United States Army. Larry also retired from Civic Service. He earned an AS from Central Texas College, and was a devoted volunteer at Sugarloaf Elementary School.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Larry is preceded in death by his Mother and Father and brother William.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, daughter Sarah Cravero, his son John Scharf, two sisters, Susan Schuler and Katharine Kresge, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Larry Scharf will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 1 PM – 3 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with full Military honors.
