LTC Walter Eugene Caughron Jr. (Ret)

Walter served his country in the US Army for 27 years retiring as LTC. During his active duty time he received many medals and awards. He also was a middle school American history teacher for Killeen I.S.D. Walter enjoyed woodworking, playing golf, but most important he enjoyed his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Walter Sr. & Ruth Caughron, and sister Lynne Mc Whorter.

Walter leaves loving memories to his wife of 66 years Phyllis Caughron, son Douglas (Monja) Caughron , Catherine (Timothy) Kish, Deborah (Michael) Jones, 11 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren and many loving friends.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Killeen on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Visitation will be from 9-11 am, funeral service will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow at 2 pm with full military honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
