

Lupe (Barron) “Lloyd” McNeir died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 12:45 a.m. at the Hill Country Nursing and Rehab Center in Copperas Cove, Texas. Visitation and viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 2, at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Funeral service will also be held at Crawford Bowers at 11 a.m., Saturday, followed by a brief graveside service and Interment at the Killeen City Cemetery.
Lupe McNeir was born on May 4, 1925 in Elgin, Texas to Gregorio and Basilia Barron. Ms. McNeir's usual occupation was a meat cutter/meat wrapper where she worked at many of the local meat markets to include the commissary at Ft. Hood. In her spare time Ms. McNeir loved music and dancing. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and in the past held the office of President of District 11. She loved her veterans and also spent time volunteering with vets at the Veterans Administration Domiciliary in Temple, Texas and helping with other Veteran events. Ms. McNeir also was an active member of the Pan American Club Incorporated of Harker Heights for more than 45 years where she also held many offices on the club's executive board.
Lupe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otis; her sister, Matilde Chapa; and 4 brothers, Vicente Barron, George Barron, Arturo Barron, and Henry Barron.
She is survived by her two daughters, Consuelo Samarripa, and Doris Syty (Gill Jaramillo); brother, Felipe Barron; and sister Juanita Alvarez; four grandchildren, Andrew Samarripa (Tammy), Karen Dougherty (Mark), Benjamin Samarripa (Tish), Ismael Hernandez III (Asmaa). Lupe's great-grandchildren are, Zachary and Noah Samarripa; Veronica, Gabriel, and Nathanial Dougherty; Lauren, Jacob, and Mia Samarripa; and Ismael Hernandez IV. Furthermore, Lupe is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and extended family who loved her very much.
Pallbearers will be Arturo Barron Jr, Gregorio Barron, Andrew Samarripa, Ismael Hernandez III, Gill Jaramillo Jr., Fernando Jaramillo, Julian Jaramillo, and alternates Vicente Chapa and Daniel Chapa Jr.
