Paula Jordan Ward was granted her angel wings on Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Killeen, TX. Paula’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her smile that could brighten any room brought so much joy to our family.
Paula, a native of West Palm Beach, FL was born December 5, 1969. She is the younger of two children born to Robert Jordan and Altermease Kendrick. She graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School in 1987. Along with her loving husband, Paula has lived all over the country and recently settled in Killeen, TX. Paula completed her education at Central Texas College (CTC) and has served as Employment Services Supervisor at CTC since 2006.
On July 27, 1991, Paula married Sergeant First Class Ret. Dexter J. Ward; together they have one son, Devin Kai. Paula had a passion for cooking and enjoyed nurturing her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Dexter; her son, Devin; her mother and Step-father, Altermease and Vincent Kendrick, Sr.; her father, Robert Jordan; her brothers, Robert L. Jordan, Sr. (Melinda) and Vincent Kendrick, Jr., (Monica), sister, Alexis C. Hunter; step-brother, Carlton McClendon; step-sisters, Renee Mack and Ann Walker; mother in-law, Fannie L. Shields; brothers- in-law Calvin Ward Jr. (Carrie), Frankie L. Shields, Billy W. Ward (Tawanna), and Steve O. Ward; sisters-in-law, Anna L. Schmitt, Nellie A. Robertson, Betty W. Bennett (Jeffrey), Rosemary Ward-Wilson, Ella W. Conley (Paul), a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A time of visitation will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen from 5 - 7 PM. The funeral service will be Friday, June 13, 2014 at Destiny World Outreach Center with Pastor Chad Rowe officiating at 9:30 AM, burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery 12:00 PM.
