Hi grandpa, i can't even begin to describe how much I miss having you around. You were the rock of our family and I miss hearing your voice. I remember how you could change a difficult situation with a funny joke or always just brightening up the mood with your vibe. I miss you more then anything, it's hard writing to you from a computer because I never thought I would have too. I miss coming to the house opening the door to see you smiling at me while laying in bed. There was never a dull moment with you around, you are one of the strongest people I know ... Our family is growing and growing I wish you were around because I know the new grandkids would of loved you so much like I do. I admire you so much grandpa and I see so much of you in Caroline. She is one profound women that I hope to be just like when I get older, you should be proud of her. I know you are proud of every single last one of your kids and grandkids. Life without you isn't the same but we all continue to try and make you smile everyday. I love you so much words can't even explain. Good Morning Slim...... It has been still VERY difficult dealing with you gone to Heaven....  I know it's been 3 years and 2 months but with Fathers Day tomorrow it makes it even more harder.  We all go thru situations in life and I miss you always being there with something funny to say to makes things easier. I know Marcos would be CRAZY about his GRANDPA and I know you would have a nickname for him...  You can rest assured that ALL your Grandkids will know about you and your Grandkids that were LUCKY to have you in their life already know how GREAT you were..... Hi grandpa,
Tommorow is my first day in high school, & I am very nervous. Its 11:30 at night and I can't sleep.. I wish I could just call you and hear your voice. It would make things a lot better, I just miss seeing your face.. You were the Rock of the Williams family. These next four years in high school, I promise to make you proud because I know your in heaven smiling down at our family. I loved making you proud when you were here. Although there will be challenges thrown at me, I will not be scared to take them on.. Just like you were never scared of challenges. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. First of all Happy Veterans Day!!.. It is because of Men and Women like you who serve or have served that we have the FREEDOM that we have in this GREAT country!!..  We miss you like CRAZY!!! and you are ALWAYS on our mind!!  I still think about all the memories of growing up and as adults we have had with you.  You always made us laugh with the things you said or did. Yesterday I ran 13.1 miles for the second year in a row ALL for you!! I know you were watching from Heaven pushing me to go on.  On Saturday Sierra ran her 1 mile for the second year in a row ALL for YOU!!.. If you could see Marcos now I know you would have a nickname for him..  It hurts me inside that Marcos never had a chance to meet his Grandpa.. He already has some of your ways!!.. Sierra always says he chews his food like you.. Dear Grandpa,

I have been thinking about you lately and how much i wish you were here. Things have been getting hard in school, but i stay strong and continue on. Just like you always stayed strong. I wish that it was possible for me to see you just one more time, so i can tell you how much you mean to me and how much of a impact you had in my life. I still remember when i use to come to grandmas house and as soon as you saw me your whole face lit up and you smiled ear to ear. You use to take me to MCcdonalds and we would share the big breakfast together. Things like that i will remember forever. You use to give me my Favorite cookies when grandma wasn't home,and we would sit at the table and eat them before dinner. You made me smile all the time. Ever since you left things have been different... We all miss you tremendously. This thanksgiving i will be thankful for my family,friends, and the love i am surrounded by. This summer is diffrent without you, i remember always going to grandmas house to see you, but lately you have been on my mind alot, i keep remembering when i use to walk into grandmas house and looked right infront of me and saw you, i was always happy to see you. I remember the kissess you use to give me on my cheek and the big hug you gave me. I miss hearing your laugh and the "smart remarks" you always gave to us. One thing i will never forget is when you were in the hospital and doctor told us you were very weak, i went in there with uncle John and held your hand and you squeezed it very tight and looked at me deep into my eyes...Your death has been the worst experience in my life and the biggest lost. There is always going to be a little part of me that is missing, as my life goes on and i get older i will always remember the man you were to our family â™¥

Dear Dad,

The holidays were difficult this year, as expected.  As I begin a new year, I can't help but reflect on the past, as well as the future, with the one year anniversary of your passing in a few short months. Its still hard to accept your loss and time has not yet eased the pain in my heart. A part of me went with you the day you left this earth. Learning to take one day at a time and trying to remember the good times brings both a smile, as well as shedding a tear at the same time. How I wish you could still be here with us. I never imagined life without you. I will always miss you and you will continue to hold a special place in my heart for the rest of my life. Rest in peace.

Dear Dad, its still very difficult accepting your loss and moving forward. You were on my mind all day this past Friday. You would have been 72 years old. My mind keeps flashing back to a year ago. I know exactly what you were doing on your last birthday with the family. One of my instructors is a grief counselor. She has been encouraging me to write a journal.  I did daily journals the first few months after you had passed and then stopped. I need to continue, as this is part of the healing process. She requires a weekly journal from her students. We must write about how we feel and must be honest and open.  This is how she found out about you.  I still miss you very much.  The pain still feels like an open wound that does not heal.  She tells me this is normal and that healing takes time.  This is not something that happens quickly.

I still miss you so very much.  Thanksgiving will never be the same without you. You left a huge void in our hearts and mind that can never be replaced. We attended the wreath laying ceremony at the cemetery on Saturday with CJ. It was a beautiful service dedicated to special people like you, who served this country with pride and honor. Today is not only thanksgiving but its also the first thanksgiving without you. You were in my head all day, i was thinking about the williams family at this time last year was sitting on the sofa laughing together and eating your amazing food. Dear Dad, last week we attended the first memorial service at VistaCare Hospice. The service was dedicated to the ones we loved/loss this year. The bereavement counselor (Sandy) had asked if I would speak at the service and share a story about you. Public speaking/speeches are two of my least favorite things, but talking about you to others is always so easy.  There is so much to say. It is one of the only speeches I don't have to memorize. I shared a story of a woman we met at your visitation service.  Your words of wisdom changed her life around and today she is "paying it forward" through her service to our community. Sandy shared with me that stories like this give people hope for the future.  Your loss is still very painful and I dread the holidays. I wish I could close my eyes and open them again, after all of these festivities have passed.  Mom and I watched Sierra run her first marathon yesterday. I wished you could have seen how proud she was.  She told us she was running for her Grandpa. Although she is still so very young, I sense she understands the continued fight to find a cure for this horrible disease. I miss you so much.  Please continue to look over us, as we face the challenges of a future without you.

Dear Dad, its still very difficult accepting that you are gone. Today was the 6 month anniversary of your passing. It feels like yesterday at times.  When I close my eyes, I can still see you sitting in your chair or laying in bed resting.  The image of your face is so vivid. I thought about you all day today.  How I wish I could turn back the hands of time.  I never would have imagined a year ago that you would not be with us. I dread the upcoming holidays, especially Thanksgiving. You really loved this holiday and took such great pleasure preparing the family meal. When I was driving home today I thought about one of your last hospital stays back in March and how I took you around the hospital in a wheelchair to get some fresh air.  You were covered with blankets and asked I take you outside. You wanted me to wheel you down to the parking lot. I did not realize at that time that you had seen your vehicle and asked me to pull the wheelchair up the front passenger side.  You wanted me to take you home. How I wish I had listened to you and brought you home to spend the last few weeks in the place you love most. I honestly believed at that time the best place for you was at the hospital surrounded by doctors/nurses and medicines to help fight this horrible disease. I know in my heart you knew that I always did what I felt was best for you, even if we did not always agree on it. I miss you so much. I have to accept that the pain and sense of loss will never go away.  When I look at CJ, I can't help but wonder what you would think if you saw him today.  He reminds me of you in so many ways.  CJ is so full of energy and has a mind of his own. Milena misses you tremendously.  I see it in the messages she posts on your website, as well as the look of sadness when she comes to the house to visit her Grandma. I know she wishes you were here to celebrate her finally becoming a "teen". She has so many memories of things you did together, like taking her to school on her first day, going to every soccer match and taking her to the PX to shop.  Sierra also misses you too and tells her Daddy she knows you are watching her from heaven.  We celebrated her birthday a few weeks ago and I know she felt a sense of sadness thinking back to a year ago when her Grandpa was still here. You have a new grandson name Marcos. We will meet him for the first time in a few weeks. I know you had him in mind when you started pricing baby furniture at the PX back in February. I am sure John and Sierra will keep your memory alive and share pictures/stories of his Grandpa when he is older. I am trying so hard to focus on memories prior to you becoming sick, but its hard.  For some reason I cannot think back that far and just remember what you went through these last two years.  I know in my heart you were tired of this battle and wanted some rest. Dear Dad, today was marked by three events, Grandparents Day, 10 year anniversary of 9/11 and the 5 month anniversary of your passing.  Its still difficult accepting that you are no longer here with us. I can't stop myself from thinking back to a year ago. My mind is a video recorder that plays non-stop at times. It was important to you that each of the grandkids have a bed to sleep on at your house. You drove to the PX to purchase a bed/nightstand for Sierra.  I still remember the smile on your face when you came home to tell me about your purchase and asked I go back with you to the PX to pick up the furniture. People keep telling me that you are now an angel looking down at us from heaven. I wish you were an angel on earth watching over in person instead of in spirit. I am writing a journal that I hope to someday share with the grandkids when they are older. Its important that they always remember their Grandpa and how much he loved them. I love forever Dad.

Dear Dad, I think about you every day. Some days memories put a smile on my face and other days brings a flood of tears. How I wish you were still here with us. Dad,                                   Yesterday was CJ's first birthday party and although it was a fun and happy time I still felt pain in my heart wishing you could be there. Dear Dad, our first Father's Day without you was difficult to say the least.  I thought about you all day and what you were doing a year ago.  I never would have thought that Father's Day 2010 was the last one you would have spent with us.  I miss you so much and still have a feeling of emptiness inside. Dear Dad, its hard to believe that two months have passed since you left us.  April 11, 2011 will be date that I remember forever. It is a date that brings such sadness and pain. I miss you so much and the days are still very difficult.  I can't help but go back in time and try to remember what you were doing a year ago. Father's Day is only a few days away and the thought of you not being here with us bring tears.  Last Father's Day was spent with you sitting on the swing in the backyard watching the grandkids swim.  You will forever be in our hearts and minds.  A part of you is with each of us and one day soon (I hope),remembering the good times will not be so painful.  I love forever.

Dear Grandpa,
Today i saw a picture of me and you in grandmas swimming pool and You had on a silly face, At first it made me cry A little bit then i laughed. I miss you so much and today when i visited your grave it hit me that you were acually gone from me. I never thought i would see IN MEMORY OF PERCY FLOYD WILLIAMS SR. Its still hard to execpt the fact your gone forever and i wont ever get to talk to you again. I miss hearing your voice and you telling me That i will be a somebody that changes the world. I Get it from my two rolemodles in life which are You and caroline. You were a great leader and never a follower you made your own decsioins based on what you wanted. Thats what i loved about you.

Dear Dad, we attended the Memorial Day service at the State Veterans Cemetery this morning.  What a beautiful event to remember those individuals like yourself, who faithfully served this country with dignity and honor. I wish I could say things have become easier since your passing last month, but it has not. Each day brings a flood of memories of your two year journey in battling a horrible disease.  You were so strong and even in the darkest days, never complained or lost hope.  I still remember you pointing to the pictures of the grandkids on your bedroom wall and telling me this fight was for them. Our lives have changed drastically since your departure and will never be the same.  I know we will continue to have some tough days ahead. You left us way too soon.  I miss you so much. Dear DaDa
I know you were in Heaven this morning watching my co workers and I run for the Special Olympics. You don't know how bad I wanted to pick up the phone and call you and tell you how much we ran today... So I called mama and texted Caroline... I have never in my life ran 10 miles before... Today my supervisor and I were the only 2 in our group that ran 10 out of 12 miles..  The whole time I knew you were watching me and I kept thinking about you as I ran,never wanting to stop at all.  Since you have been gone I have had bad days and good days.. I know everybody grieves in their own different way.  I always remind Sierra that you are in Heaven watching down on her and everything she does,and she just says I KNOW DADDY... 

Well that's all for now...I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH!!!..  UNTIL WE SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN..

Dear Grandpa,
I know your in heaven telling everyone about the Williams family and how much you are loved. Through your sick time The Williams family was very supportive but there was one person that went out of her way to do everything she could to help, that was your daughter Caroline. I have never in my life seen a daughter that devoded to her father. I know in my heart that without her It would have been more difficult fighting this battle of cancer. She never let you miss an appointment and always took notes when the doctor was talking so she could do a outstanding job helping you. I hope to be just like her one day and have that much love and care for my faher.

Grandpa Please know that everday i think of you and how you were a great influence on my life.

Dear Dad, the pain of your loss has not lessen any and I don't expect it ever will.  They say time heals all wounds, but I know this is not true.  A true broken heart does not heal.  Instead we learn to live/survive with the pain of our loss.  In essence we start a new life without our loved one. Not a day or moment goes by that I don't think of you and how I wish we had more time. I never once envisoned losing you so quickly. I know that this additional time would not have made a difference in the pain I feel today.  This time would have been spent doing the things you wanted to do like renting an RV with the grandkids, planning CJ's first birthday, watching them swim in your pool and spending time doing some minor yardwork. On so many different levels, I was not prepared for your loss and always had faith/hope that you could beat anything.  You were invincible in my mind.  I visited your gravesite today.  This weekly ritual is part of learning to survive without you. Something told me that your headstone had been placed.  Although it was good to see the placard with your name replaced with this beautiful headstone, it also brought a flood of tears. I will always love and miss you tremendously. Theres not a day that goes by that i dont think of you. I miss the days when i came to grandmas house with my report card and i would get straight A's and you would be so proud of me. i remember on my birthday when you cooked me the best meal i ever had. I remember when you put on that red baithing suit and dived into the pool in the back yard. I'll always remember the Strong, Talented,and handsome man you were. We sure do miss you and everything you used to do for us. You have meant so much to our entire family and all your friends and our friends. I know you are up in Heaven smiling when I cut the grass and washed your Traverse today. Like I told you in my letter to you I am going to step up and start helping Mama and Caroline a lot more. I think about you every day when I come home from work some sad times and some good times but I know you are not suffering anymore and you are in a better place. Sometimes it is still hard to believe that you are not here. My coworkers at TDCJ have been very HELPFUL and have suprised me with all the love and support they have shown me and the entire family thru this tough time of Losing you. Dear Grandpa,
My English teacher told my class we had to write a paper on our rolemodel. The first thing that popped in my mind was you. I finally finished it and i talk about how you were always there for me and how you always helped me figure things out. i still remember when i used to call you every wednesday for our weekly talk. I remember you saying "Do you need anything" and "Do you have everything you need and want."(: I used to laugh and say "Yes grandpa I'm doing fine." My favorite thing you always told me was "Don't forget your only 12 years old Milena" I miss those times but i will always have them in my mind.

Dear Grandpa, I got first place in my band concert and i wish you were here so i could tell you everything. I always carry your picture around and that gives me everything i need to succeed in my life. I will never forget about you grandpa I think of you as my rolemodel.

my condolences to all Mr. Williams Sr. I work with him while he was workin with TDCJ. He was one of the best leader i has ever work with, my prays for you all.

To the Williams family,
My deepest sympathy over the loss of Mr. Williams.  We were honored that he gave us his full trust for his nutritional care.   We will always remember how stoic he was in pursuing his own personal battle with cancer.  He was a model patient with a very loving family especially Caroline who was always with him when he came to see us.  We applaud Caroline's character of unconditional love she gave to take care of Mr. Williams.  May you all find comfort somehow knowing that the good Lord is with you among all your friends who are thinking of you in your time of sorrow.
