

Retired Master Sergeant Priciliano F. Galvan, age 80, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Scott and White hospital in Temple, surrounded by his loving family in his last hours. He was born in Driscoll, Texas on December 22, 1933 and later moved to Sinton, Texas where he met and eventually married his loving wife of 60 years, Jesusa Zapata.
He enlisted in the Army at age 23 and enjoyed a successful 26 year military career before retiring in Killeen, Texas. Mr. Galvan was a loving father and caring grandfather who touched the lives of many people. Though he only had five children of his own he was viewed as a father figure by many other people he met during his lifetime.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Guadalupe Galvan and Priciliano Galvan, his sister, Lidia Espinosa and his son, David Galvan.
He leaves behind a family that will always love and cherish their time with him to include his wife, Jesusa Galvan of Killeen, his son, Jose Galvan of Killeen, daughter and son in law, Sylvia Johnson and Cary Johnson Sr. of Killeen, daughter, Sonia Sparrow of Killeen, son and daughter in law, Pete Galvan and Diane Galvan of Arlington, Texas, brother Jose Galvan of Rosenberg, Texas, sister Amelia Hernandez of Sinton, Texas and brother Isidro Galvan of Corpus Christi, Texas. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jessica Galvan, Dean Nicholson Jr., Louis Nicholson, Cary Johnson Jr., Theodore Johnson and Marcus Galvan.
Viewing and rosary services will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen on Wednesday, January 29th from 6pm to 8pm. A Mass of a Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Killeen on Thursday, January 30th at 11am. Burial will follow in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full Military honors.
His time on earth may be over but he will live forever in our hearts.
