Richard Edward Bedell Jr.

Richard (Ricky) Edward Bedell, Jr., 56, peacefully passed away on December 5, 2016 in Bryan College Station. Ricky was born on October 25, 1960 in Washington, D.C. to Richard E. Bedell and Helga M. Hernandez.

Ricky graduated Ellison High School in 1979. He worked at McDonalds through high school and became the store Manager at Rancier until the late 1980’s. Before his move to Hearne Texas, Ricky worked at M&M Vending as an Office Manager for many years. Ricky has been a member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church since 1973. His love for fishing, singing and loving his family gave him great joy. His new found hobby was gardening during his stay in Hearne. Ricky had many friends that he kept in touch with during the years

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Richard E Bedell; his mother, Helga M. Hernandez and brother- in- law, Andrew F. Schaumburg. Ricky is survived by his uncle William Bedell of Bridgeport Connecticut; stepfather , Richard Hernandez, Sr.; mother Heidi Whitfield, who raised him and her husband Monte; four sisters: Debbie Schaumburg, Michelle Mahan and her husband Mike, Bernice Bedell, Anja Maria Dingman and her husband Robert; brothers Richard “Rocky” Hernandez Jr and his wife Lucia , Edward “Eddie” Bedell , William “Billy” Bedell and his wife Deborah, all whom are from Killeen; nieces and nephews: Mark and Kevin Schaumburg , Ryan, Bryan and River Mahan, Marcos Bordoy, Elena Tirado, Dylan Bedell, Dapheny Bedell, Manuel, Marisa, Jaycie and Alisa Hernandez, Mariah and Justin Dingman who adored their uncle Ricky, especially during Christmas; also 14 great nieces and nephews and all of his extended family at the Hearne Nursing Facility.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 2800 Trimmer Rd. in Killeen. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church.
