Putting the needs, wants, and happiness of others ahead of his own was the Scott Schumacher way of life. As evidenced by the Saturday I arrived late to the drop zone. The first load had already been organized and was full. Scott looked at me, looked at the board, looked back at me, one more time at the board to confirm the load was full, then disappeared. He returned a little later and took me aside to tell me he had  pulled himself off the load and put me on instead because he didn’t want me to feel left out. 

Scott routinely and without hesitation set aside his own gratification for the sake of others.

I have so many great memories of Scotty from when we used to go swimming and he would do back flips he really was a great swimmer. Him and Sara would have the best birthdays and I always loved going to there house and having cook outs. Scotty was a free spirit! I will truly miss him! The last time I saw him I went to his moms house to see her but she wasn’t home. Scotty answered the door and he was no longer a child in my eyes he had grown to be a wonderful man! He was so happy to see me let me know his mom was at work we talked for a bit. He had a smile on his face as he told me how his life has been. As I left he gave me the tightest hug! I will always remember him for that.  I know we have a wonderful strong angel looking over us . They say iron sharpens iron… well the lord must have needed him more cause he sure took a strong loving person. Rest In Peace Scotty 

I was known to you as your sisters best friend in High School. You always had either that goofy face to tease your sister or a smile on your face. You were always kind and fun to be around and could get along with every and anyone. I remember when me and your sister went to the houses across your moms house (why we chose right across the street i don’t know it was very obvious we could be guilty!) to go crazy one night TP’ing their front yard and cars and you came outside and caught us! You turned us into mom! She sure handled all the crazy things we did well. Now that I have kids, I don’t know how she remained so calm each time! Anyways, we got to clean up all the TP the next morning while the neighbors starred us down and you laughed the entire time. 🤣 I know how much your mom, dad and Sara love you. It has been about 13 years since I spent time with you all, but I’ve stayed connected through social media and have always been amazed by all the adventures you’ve had over the years. I’m terrified of heights and always loved watching your skydiving and piloting videos wishing I could be that brave! I’m glad you got to live fully and happily. You will be deeply missed. 

Scott and I have know each other for almost 10 years … we shared many adventures together . From the naked mile run to sneaking into the Astros World Series game. 
He was a light in my life.  Watching him fly in on a helicopter for his graduation is exactly what I would expect, extra and amazing.  I will love him forever. 

Dear best friend and brother.  Thank you! Thank you for helping me and being by my side no matter what. im sorry, i didn't keep in touch as much as i should of when i left to Mi  but you were always talked about and in my thoughts.  Thank you for all the amazing times going to your class to watch you fly and always being there for me when i needed some one the most. We had alot of fun and always knew if one of us were in trouble the other would be there no matter what.  Losing you is hard, but im proud of you and who you became.  I love you and will always have you by my side. You are an inspiration, and you inspired me . R.I.P Scott, i love you! Thank you again for  all the great times you blessed me with i will see you again someday !

This is my favorite picture of us at Lonestar when we got to jump together FINALLY! Lol  🥰  I met Scotty through our friend Matt and, little did I know, we would become close friends and make so many memories together. He took my skydiving when the person I was supposed to go skydiving with bailed on me (that’s also the first time I met Naz💜). Scotty was so welcoming, thoughtful, loving and goofy. This world is going to miss his spirit. Love you so much, Scotty. 💜 Thank you for always being there and including me in your life. I’m truly honored. 

Last time I talked to Scott was in December.  He asked me about getting a pilot job where I work.  My place wasn't hiring right then.  Later he said he got a job flying jumpers at Temple, and that he might be getting a job flying out of Victoria.   I was really happy for him.  I was impressed by how he went after what he wanted and became the best at whatever he did.  One day at Skydive Lone Star my daughter was worried about skydiving and Scott helped calm her fears.  She went on to get her A licensed and then I was able to skydive with her before she went to college.  When I think of who I have known in my life who is the kindest, most caring, most energetic, and truly a loving person, that is Scott.  I don't remember the last time we spoke in person, but the one image I keep remembering is when he came walking in from a skydive and said "Wow that opening was SPICY."  Scott was the Spice of life for many people.

Scott was my brother when he didn't know who he was he was at my house non stop when he found the woman he loved and found himself he was everywhere and I loved him for that he was an amazing person a great brother and saved me me from my self love you 

Thank you to Scott’s family for giving us this opportunity to share our feelings. 

I feel cheated. Cheated out of dinners, trips, adventures - all the moments that would have been, that SHOULD have been. An entire lifetime of such moments together isn’t nearly enough, and the awful truth is sometimes we don’t even get that. 

I feel grateful. Grateful for joyful experiences and the memories of Scott I get to cherish for the rest of my life. 

I feel hope. Hope because the community Scott left behind has each other to help bear the weight of loss. Without Scott, there can never be a “getting back to normal.” But even in these dark hours, I have hope that the future will hold joy and fellowship. As long as we have each other, we’ll have love.

Scott wouldn’t have it any other way. 

Scott, you were always one of the brightest and warmest in the room. I’ll never forget the times we all got together and how you made sure everyone felt included no matter what we were doing. You made everyone feel like family. Thank you for making everyone we brought around you feel like they always knew you, thank you for making sure I participated at poker night, thank you for the countless laughs. 
Most of all, thank you for loving my good friend Naz and making her beautiful soul radiate even brighter with your nurturing love! You will live in our hearts forever, friend. 

“Scotty” was my best friend growing up. I have many cherished memories of the same Scott it seems- bright, honorable, always a friend, always up for adventure. As memories of Scott and Sarah and Connie flood in I want to wish them peace that passes understanding and warmth and light. 

I was only fortunate enough to jump with him/meet him once, and this was one week prior to his passing. That jump was super fun. I met him for the first time in the loading area 10 minutes before jumping with him and some friends, and he complimented my t-shirt. The entire way up on the airplane he was cracking jokes and laughing. He was a super friendly guy.

I wish I got to know him more and make more fun memories, but this is enough to say about the type of guy he was. Super genuine and friendly, even to those he didn't know. I will forever cherish this memory.

Looking at all these family pictures takes me back to that adorable blonde boy with the big smile that hung out in children's church and  daycare. He was quiet and a little shy, but never failed to give me a big hug. I will always remember him as that sweet boy with the big smile. Corina and Sara, I can't begin to imagine the difficult time you are going through. Please know you are both continually in my heart and in my prayers. 

We met you when you were six. You and my sons were fast friends. It was nothing to see you at the house hanging out all the time. You became one of the guys. I thank you for being a loyal friend to both Bobby  and especially David. Thank you for the many memories ranging from your broken arm to dingdong dash. There was always a smile on your face, always a quick hug and how are you doing? I will never forget when you came and you hugged me when my mom passed away. You were thoughtful and kind when many did not know what to do or say. You grew to become a very good man and I am proud to have known you,  Thank you for adding spice into our lives. We will sorely miss you only because we were very blessed to have you. I hope you are living your best life upstairs in heaven. Till we meet again take good care.

I remember meeting you fresh out of basic on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. I remember being terrified to look at you because your eyes felt like they pierced my soul. We’d later make jokes of whose eyes were prettier. I’ll still secretly say that mine are but I digress. I think the one thing I was afraid of was you seeing my truth. You seeing me. I was objectified and sexualized daily but it was apart of working at Hoots right? Nope. You made me feel beautiful for being intelligent. You made it your mission to learn more about what made me – me. You made sure I got home safely on multiple accounts. Danced with me. Told me your woes, your triumphs. Oh to be 20 again! I remember you coming to get me from San Antonio to take me to Belton for the weekend. Sitting on the tailgate of your truck watching the sunset. If I could’ve picked a moment to box up and keep forever it would’ve been that. Thank you for the smiles, the laughs – the memories. Thank you for never making me feel less than. Thank you for believing every jagged piece of me was beautiful. It’s crazy to think you knew my worth long before I ever did. 
Crazy to see you still living through all of these beautiful people who love you so much. I am proud of the man you’ve become Scotty. I am so so proud of you! You lived more than most of us could’ve ever dreamt of. 
My continued prayer for you now my beautiful friend, I pray you walk with those who are hurting. Walk with your momma, your sister, your beautiful girlfriend. We’ll all be sending them our love and prayers. Check in on me from time to time per the usual will you? I first met Scott in 2021 when i started working manifest at Skydive Lonestar. I knew nothing about skydiving, and i didn’t know anyone. Scott was one of the first people to truly make me feel welcome there and make me feel like apart of the family. he had a positive energy i’ll never forget. and a smile that always made you smile. He will never be forgotten.

My heart breaks hearing this sad news. I first met Scotty when he was in elementary school and I worked in the front office at his school. I’ll always remember his bright, shiny eyes and huge smile. He and my son, Mason,  played soccer on the same youth team and also graduated from BHS in 2010. I remember him giving me a big hug at graduation!! God give you all peace and strength during this very hard time. He was loved by many. 🙏🙏❤️

One of my favorite memories is a trip to Colorado with Scott, Victoria, David and myself. We stayed at Breckenridge ski resort with plan's to go snowboarding. Scott had been snowboarding previously, but I had never experienced it myself. 

After training for about an hour on a little hill, Scott had the bright idea of going up the lift so we could attempt a descent for the first time.. I'm not to sure how it happened, but I accidentally went down a black diamond, it's an area where more experienced people go to have fun and test themselves.

Scott was basically following me to make sure I would be ok and make it down safely. I ended up sliding down the black diamond on my butt and instead of Scott zooming off to have fun he chilled by my side and we both laughed all the way down to safety.

Scott, you will be missed friend thanks for being you!

Connie, so very sorry  for your loss. My heart breaks for you and your family.  I remember Scotti & Sarah when they were about 6 years old with blond  hair, I thought that they were twins. They were in my Wednesday night class.  Just remember what  a sweet spirit he had.

I was Scott’s PE teacher at Sparta Elementary. He was a great student with an infectious smile.  I was blessed to have had him in my class!

I knew Scott as a child and teenager, and only spoke to him or saw him a couple of times over the last 20 years or so, but each time I did see him, he was the same outgoing, easygoing, welcoming guy; and usually with that beautiful, infectious grin and eyes that absolutely sparkled with mischief!!
We lived right next door to Connie, Scott and Sara all those years ago and our kids were close in age, with Scott being a couple of years older than my middle son. He could talk me into letting them do almost anything! Charm would be an understatement! Scott had charisma in spades and that was at like 10 - 12 years old. The one thing I will never forget is coming home to find he and my son had pulled the trampoline over close to the house so that they could climb up on the porch 
ROOF to jump off onto the trampoline! 😅😀 He 
was fearless even then and I suppose his love of adventure was already a core characteristic!
I am so sorry that he is gone way too soon. What a great loss.

I met Scott in 2nd grade during recess, I remember crawling into those plastic tubes and you were sitting in there spinning your hot wheels around the tunnel and instantly we became friends. As kids we would race our hot wheels down whatever hill we could find and eventually when we started driving we would race our Camaros on some backroads. There is an infinite number of memories I have with Scott, that we made over the 23 years that we were friends. I remember one time we went to Colorado and Scott was able to make a 12 hour trip in 9 hours because his average speed was 100mph. We became brothers, and when I moved to Houston for my job and you left for Austin we didn’t get to talk or hangout as much because we were dealing with our own lives, but everytime we met up it was a reunion and you were always the life of the party. Rest easy for now and I will see you when I make it up there.

I met this mountain of a man when we were just 16. We were just MySpace friends at the time and he had to come hunt me down in between classes to give me a hug that swept me off my feet in order to introduce himself. 
Our junior and senior years in highschool we were pretty much inseparable. This boy grabbed me by the hand and whisked me off onto some of the craziest adventures. Probably many that our parents would promptly frown upon or total goin into total shock😅 
Life was always an adventure with him. From late nights sneaking out and driving too fast, running from the cops, cliff jumping at the lake, and the list goes on.  We were always doing something to get the adrenaline going. 
The boy loved to live life and it gives me peace knowing that he died doing exactly that.  He lit my world on fire and broke me out of my hesitant ways. He was like a star that was too bright to shine in this life. I hope wherever his soul has flown to, that he is at peace and shinning brighter than ever. You are so loved by so many of us. Thank you for touching so many lives and always being you. My James Bond. Scotty boy, fly high.

I met Scott through our aviation classes. If he wasn't already seated in class with a smile, he walked in with energy and a contagious  smile lighting up the room. I enjoyed sitting next to him, walking the school  halls and hanging out between classes. He was a phenomenal friend that put a smile on my face and offered emotional support and more when going through  very tough times. His very presence was warmth and happiness. His voice and smile, I can still hear and see by just thinking of him. Scott, I thank you for being such an incredible friend/person, you are sooo loved and cherished and will forever be in a special place in my heart and memories. I/we love you. 
One of the last memories I have of Scott is loading him up in the helicopter for his graduation  ceremony..he looked sooo handsome and adorable! He was super excited/proud of the moment, accomplishment and had the most exciting ear to ear smile! I'm  gonna miss those moments..his voice, all of him.

To all of Scott's  loved one's, my condolences  for losing him so very soon. As other's  have said, he has sprouted his wings in heaven and I am sure he will be looking over us. I think God has a very special mission and needed him home sooner rather than later. We will forever keep him in our hearts and memories.

Our whole crew went to a flight camp at ifly in El Paso Texas. I got food poisoning the next day so I couldn’t fly. Scott and my brother came home from the tunnel to pick me up and bring me to urgent care. I said “Im so sorry I’m taking you away from flying.” First thing Scott said was “don’t be sorry, don’t be sorry. We are here to take care of you and get you better. Flying can wait!” He made sure I had my ID and anything I needed for the doctor before we left the house. On the way there, and at the clinic he was doing anything he could to make me feel better by cracking jokes, or making silly faces. Haven’t thought about this memory since that day in El Paso. It was the first thing I thought of when I started thinking about him and I’ll carry that one with me forever :) 


I hope you  find peace in all this.  God has his plan, and no matter how hard it seems to us, it will be beautiful in the end.  I don't know why Scott was taken home so soon, but I do know that he served God's purpose right up to the end.  I feel blessed that I was fortunate to be touched by his presence. I have been having a hard time in life over the last few years.  People like Scott having been giving me something I didn't know I needed.  Scott didn't even know he was doing it, but he touched my life by just being a great person.  I will always remember to take a breath, just like he was teaching right up to the end.   God bless you and your family.  I pray that peace will surround you.

Hey Brother, i’ve known you since you were a little kid, you challenged me to see the excitement and wonderment of this life. I figured out long ago that God takes special people even when you’re young because he needs them.
  You are definitely one of the special ones,  you lived your life to the fullest, and didn’t leave anything on the table, you were all in. I always loved that about you.  I’m not gonna say rest in peace because you never rested once  in life. God needed a good copilot and he got one of the best. I love you, brother fly high.

I sat with Scott at lunch while in school. He asked me for a dollar everyday. Scott let me drive his car knowing I couldn't drive. His laugh was so contagious. Scott always let his light shine and saw the best in people. He's up in heaven testing his new wings. My prayers are with his family as they go through this extremely hard time.

Our moms met about 15 years ago working at HEB and became quick friends and then family. We've spent just about every Thanksgiving with them for the last 13 years and meeting Scott was quite the experience. I was a shy, quiet young adult and he was already larger than life, which was quite intimidating at the time! But once you got one of his hugs, the ones that knocked the wind out of you because he put his whole body into it, you knew he was just a big ball of love. I'll never forget the hours and hours of stories we've shared over the years, especially when we sat on the porch with Omi and the look on his face when she talked about her bartending days! Scott, you will be forever loved and missed. Til the next bear hug, bro!

The best brother I could ever asked for. I will miss you more than life itself. I’d trade mine to bring you back! You deserved so much. I’ll love you forever, and I’ll make sure your memory never dies! 

Scott had an outlook on life and people that is rarely found. He cared deeply and made sure you knew it. His eyes and smile sparkled with lighthearted mischievousness that encouraged others to live life more fully. Meeting his other half in this life was exquisite to experience and witness. My heart is with all who are left earthside and he will be missed grandly. 

It pains me to hear about Scott taken so young. I met Scott during my first year of college where we were both attending classes and learning to fly. Being on my own for the first time it helped to have a good friend in a new place. We had a tight knit group during my time in Killeen and I will forever be thankful for the friendship and memories I gained from Scott. 

Will never forget how your love made me feel. 

Scott and I met on July 11th 2020 and since then we became inseparable. Everything was just so instant. I knew right away he was my person! Didn’t even take weeks before I moved cities and we moved in together. I remember him telling me to buckle up cuz we’re just getting started. Almost 3 years later we just celebrated his bday on April 13th! Even tho the pain of losing a partner is never easy, all I can hold on too is knowing he was truly happy. On his bday I asked him what he’s wishing for and he said I don’t need anything I have everything I need and want to be happy 🤍❤️ he was such a happy positive person. I know we’ll reunite one day but till then RIP my love 

There will never be enough pictures or videos to cover the amount of memories we have over the sum of about 16-17yrs. You loved with everything you had. You looked fear in the eye and laughed. You were such a solid support system for so many. I won't ever be able to put in exact words the way I feel right now. One thing I know for sure is we had an amazing time together and I will never forget the love we shared. You're already so missed. Until we meet again Scotty boy. 

My husband and I only had the pleasure of meeting Scott a few times through mutual friends but from the moment we met him, he was a friend to all, life of the party, full of life and adventure and a very kind and caring person. Our deepest condolences to Naz and Scott’s family.  May the memories you have with him bring you comfort in this tragic time. 

Scott was an amazing human being... always hyper and having fun! I enjoyed the many classes we had together at CTC and Teaxas A&M. He lived life to the fullest and never had a dull moment. Still the only person to jump from my plane! Fly high, my Brother, we will miss you!
