Stan was born on November 16, 1916 in Itasca, Texas. The son of a barber and the oldest of ten brothers, Stan often bragged that he made it all the way though the 3rd grade before he left school to pick cotton and help support his family.
Through his many experiences like avid reading and hard work; Stan became one of the most knowledgeable, successful and interesting men you could wish to know. His many hobbies were golfing, fishing, hunting, dominos, gin rummy, driving across Texas looking at the wild flowers and teaching his grand kids all the above.
Stan was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Connell, a son Ted Connell and a grandson Ricky Connell.
He is survived by one brother, Phillip Connell; a daughter, Karen Stinson and her husband Tom Stinson; grandchildren: Liz Farrow and her husband Hobie Buffington, Paul Connell and his wife Alisa Connell, Julie Farrow, John Farrow, Roger Farrow, Laird George Little, and granddaughter-in-law , Kari Connell; great-grandchildren: Shawn Clutts, Grant Connell, Kara Connell, Austin Connell, Brooklyn Connell and Brian Farrow; great-great grandchild, Tyler Farrow.
He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and a very good friend and companion, Loretta Gatske.
Stan lived life to the fullest. He was active and healthy up until the day he passed. Even at 97, he still loved to sing and be with people.
He will be sorely missed.
