He was born on September 20, 1927 in Duncan, Arizona.
He married Elaine O. Lovett on November 25, 1950 in Prescott, Arizona.
William (Bill) had been a resident of Killeen since retiring from the Army at Fort Hood in 1982.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine.
Survivors include his two daughters, Stephanie Stone and Jacquelyn Cornett (husband Carl); five grandchildren, William Stone, Jr. and his wife Sheila, Becky Stone Fruchey and her husband Gary, Scott Luepke and his wife Keri, Steven Stone and his wife Candice, and Cassie Cornett Bradford; and nine great-grandchildren.
Bill will be buried in a private ceremony at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the able and compassionate staff of Regency Manor Nursing Home and the Odyssey Hospice staff for all the care and kindness they have provided in the last five years.
