

Kirk, as he was known by family and friends was born in Baytown, Texas on August 10, 1958.
He graduated from Humble High School in 1976 where he excelled as a drummer in the Wildcat Band.
He spent a short time in the Navy, traveling overseas, and held various jobs in California and Texas. Kirk loved working. As a Materials Handler for Industrial Molding in Lubbock, Texas and was recognized as the Operations Outstanding Employee. He also enjoyed his work for Turner Industries in Pasadena.
Spending time with family was his favorite pastime. He was passionate about snow skiing and loved biking and hiking. On a number of occasions Kirk spoke to high school students on the dangers of substance abuse. He had a gift for writing passionate letters to the ones he loved.
He is survived by his father George West, mother Joyce Braus and step-father James Braus all of Kingwood; three siblings, Mark West of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Kelly West Baker and her husband Micky of Robert Lee, TX, Robyn West Grindel and her husband Mark of the Woodlands, TX and six step-siblings Joni Regnier and husband Steve, Sharon Stryjewski and husband Michael, Paula Meyers and husband Gene, John Braus, David Braus, Linda Antcliff and her husband Chris, along with various nieces and nephews. Kirk is preceded in death by his step-mother, Jean West.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A memorial celebration will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home.
